Can we forget that gap-toothed smile. It is Michael Strahan's trademark in the NFL besides being a great DE. I am very surprized and sad that he is retiring. I thought we had him for another year. I must remind myself he is 36 and gave us 7 Pro Bowls. 15 years in the NFL. Some people don't last that long in a normal job. You guessed right. He gave his notice for retirement last week. Maybe he wants more than 8 million to play but I think he wants to retire in style.
He has a "Hall of Fame" resume.
- 141 1/2 career regular sacks. He did end up beating LT.
- 9 1/2 sacks his rookie year. Really
- 216 NFL games.
- 22 1/2 sacks in 2001. Sack record that year.
- 18 1/2 sacks in 2003. He was the only Giants player to twice lead the league in sacks.
- 7 Pro Bowls
- He sacked 64 QBs.
- Philly's McNabb was scaked 12 1/2 times by him.
- New York Giants all-time total sack leader.
He is retiring at the top of his game. Going out in style........
